Stephen Sosna Obituary

Stephen J. "Blacky" Sosna Sr., 62, of 206 Lavelle Road, Lavelle, passed away Monday at his residence.
Born in Shenandoah, Feb. 5, 1951, he was a son of the late John and Agnes Obzut Sosna.
He was a graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.
Steve worked for the Wal-Mart Distribution Center, Highridge Industrial Park, as a yard jockey.
He was an avid camper and golfer and was a member of Outdoor World.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Stephen J. Sosna Jr.; a brother, Michael Sosna; and a nephew, Stanley J. Leonarczyk III.
Surviving are two daughters, Paula Davis and her husband, Mark, Ashland, and Dawn Kowalick, Shenandoah; two granddaughters, Shawna and Dominique; four brothers, John Sosna, Florida, Paul Sosna and his wife, Debbie, Brandonville, David "Yogi" Sosna Sr., and Mark Sosna and his wife, Annette, all of Shenandoah; six sisters, Kathleen, wife of Lenny Beenick, and Victoria "Cookie," wife of Dale Lindenmuth, all of Ringtown, Bonita "Tootsie," wife of Bill O'Donnell, Marie, wife of Bob Clark, and Theresa "Terry," wife of Stanley Leonarczyk, all of Shenandoah, and Annette "Netty" Sosna, Brandonville; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Prayer and scripture services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian will officiate. Relatives and friends may call from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, Shenandoah, is in charge of the arrangements.
