David Neil

Grantham, Jr.

With deepest sorrow, we announce that David Neil Grantham, Jr., age 36, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, family member and friend passed away on October 26, 2021 on Lake Murray, SC. Those that knew Neil, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives.

Neil was born in Florence, SC on March 3, 1985. Neil graduated from West Florence High School in 2003, where he was the captain of the football team his senior year. After graduation, he moved back to Florence where he became a broker in charge with his own company, Grantham Properties, LLC. Neil was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed taking his girls on the boat and swimming in the lake. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, scuba diving, snow skiing and water skiing. No adventure was too great for Neil. Neil is survived by his wife, Alison Martin Grantham and their two beautiful girls, Graylyn and Abigail Grantham. He also leaves behind his mother, Mary Grantham Sanders; stepfather, Crawford Ellerby Sanders III; his father, David Neil Grantham, Sr.; stepmother, Judy Mares Grantham; sister, Lawton Grantham Hirsch and her husband, Steve Michael Hirsch; niece, McKenzie Hirsch; nephew, Rigby Hirsch; mother-in-law, Donna Martin; father-in-law, Don Martin; brother-in-law, Timothy Martin; sister-in-law, Jordyn Martin and niece, Lincoln Martin.

A visitation is scheduled for 10:00 am at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 13, 2021.

Neil loved his neighborhood and the friends that soon became family shortly after moving to Lexington in 2019. In lieu of flowers, donations are being collected for a neighborhood playground in Neil's memory. Donations can be made to Kelsey Glen HOA Playground Fund, PO Box 1974, Lexington, SC 29071.

I have no words to explain how I feel. I can not imagine his family and what they have been through already. I met Neil when I worked for him in 2017. He was smart and I liked working with him. He will be missed by many. Rest in Peace Neil
