Dr. Donald E. Jappert

St. Cloud - September 11, 1968 - November 22, 2018

Born in Fontana, California to Edward and Alberta Jappert. He left this world in Lamphun, Thailand with his beloved Apple (Channanat Promwiang) at his side. Travelling to the end as he loved. He had friends as far away as China. He traveled to Mexico often to Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo where he often spent time deep sea fishing in the Pacific Ocean with his good friend Poli. Poli and his family were some of Don's fondest friends including Don being a big part of the Don Gordo fleet of fishing vessels. Don was an avid fisherman from his trout he named "Oscar" that he caught with his father to salmon fishing in Lake Michigan and Lake Superior as well as countless sailfish, tuna, dorados and the blue marlin that adorns his living room wall today.

Don had educational achievements that included valedictorian at Moapa Valley High School in 1986 in Logandale, NV, the University of Nebraska, in Lincoln, NE, the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in Omaha, NE where he was a Chancellor's Scholar and residency at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN. Don worked as an Anesthesiologist for St. Cloud Hospital and Midsota Clinic in St. Cloud, MN where he impacted and touched many lives of coworkers and patients alike.

He was an avid fan of rock and roll music and attending many concerts. One of Don's fondest memories was when he toured with KISS for a time as true dream come true ending with the stop in Las Vegas. He was a little rebellious by nature of the norms of society and named his business after "Rebel Yell" by Billy Idol.

Don loved real estate. From his rental properties in the twin cities and Janesville, WI to his proudest achievement of "Poseidon's Fortress" on the shore of the Mississippi River. Anyone in St. Cloud knew "The Poseidon House" with its watchful eye, the Poseidon statue and fountain and its beating heart. The house personified his travels throughout the world, love of music, affection for the sea and all his other passions. Every room had a detail that was something he cared about in life.

Don is survived by his mother, Alberta Jappert of Logandale, NV, a sister Patsy Bethel of Loveland, CO, a brother Eddy Fitts of Stockton, KS, his girlfriend Apple in Thailand and his cousin Ted Jappert in Janesville, WI and many friends throughout the world. He was preceded in death by his father Edward Jappert.

The family would like to extend gratitude to a few people that were extraordinary in Don's life and passing that were not mentioned above. Sue Ogg of Sauk Rapids, MN for always being there for Don and Dewayne Chow (and family) of Overton, Nevada for his overwhelming support of Alberta through this process.
