Ruby Bonecutter Obituary

Ruby C. Bonecutter, aged 83, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Lexington Court Care Center in Lexington, Ohio.

Ruby was born on July 15, 1941 to the late Frederick and Gertrude (Schaub) Gutchall in Shelby, Ohio and was a lifelong Shelby resident. Ruby was a 1959 graduate of Shelby High School and worked at the Ohio Seamless Tube until she transitioned to being a loving, stay-at-home mother. Over the course of her life, she was involved in many groups and clubs to include: The Ohio Genealogy Society (OGS), The Richland Shelby Chapter OGS, The Descendants of the Mayflower Society, The Alden Kindred of America, The Daughters of the American Revolution, The M.I. Hummel Club, and the Fond Memories Doll Club. In addition to her favorite organizations, she loved to travel with her family all over the United States, as well as traveling overseas to visit family that lived abroad.

She is survived by her children: one daughter, Suzanne (Joe) Ballengee of Shelby; two sons, Charles (Patti) Bonecutter II of Shelby and LtCol Chad (Kathleen) Bonecutter, USMC of Davie, Florida. In addition to her three children, she was the proud grandmother to seven grandchildren: Jacob Ballengee; Christian (Samantha) Ballengee; Charles Bonecutter III; and Colton, Barrett, Taylor, and Jackson Bonecutter. As well, she was a great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren: Lillianna, Zachary, Oliver, Noah, and Jack Ballengee. Also surviving her are her two sisters-in-law, Carol Jean Daron of Plymouth and Carol Gutchall of Shelby, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Preceding her in death was her husband of nearly 57 years, Charles Bonecutter - whom she married on December 27, 1963. Also preceding her in death, was her brother, Edwin Gutchall.

Family and friends may come to honor Ruby's life from 4PM to 7PM on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Barkdull Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 10AM at the funeral home. The funeral, officiated by the Reverend Nathan R. McBeth, will be followed by interment at Oakland Cemetery.
