She was born in September of 1942, in Malden, Mass., the daughter of Ralph W. Kenty of Malden, and the late Arline (Norton) Kenty.

She was raised in Malden and attended Malden Schools.

She was a former member of the Junior Aide Society of Malden.

A few years later she met Thomas Kelly of Somerville, Mass., and they were married in 1998. They enjoyed traveling together and shared many enjoyable years until Thomas died in 2002.
