Andrew Davies Obituary

Andrew Scott Davies

Our son, brother, husband, grandson, nephew, cousin, and best friend passed away from injuries suffered in a tragic automobile accident on October 4th. Andy was born March 8, 1983 the son of Ken and Mary Davies and grew up in the Rose Hill neighbborhood of Kirkland where he attended Rose Hill Elementary, Rose Hill Junior High, and Lake Washington High School.

Following in the footsteps of his great grandfather Andy's career focused on the produce industry and most recently as a department manager at Safeway of Moses Lake. He was a devoted and gifted musical mentor at New Beginnings Christian Center in Moses Lake. Andy was an accomplished beat poet and absolutely loved all things Husky Football.

Andy was preceded in death by his mother Mary Davies, grandparents Arnie and JoAnne Salkin, Beth Davies, and Albert "Steve" Quinn. Andy is survived by his wife Heather and her parents Jeff McCraken and Laura McCracken, his parents Ken and Cheryl Davies, and his loving brother and sister Ben and McKenna. Andy also leaves his grandfathers Mike Davies and Paul Gilbert, his grandmothers Ila Mae Gilbert and Jackie Quinn, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

All are welcome to attend a memorial to be held at the chapel at Holyrood Cemetery, Thursday October 11 at 1:00 pm 205 NE 205th Street Shoreline, WA 98155.

A celebration of music and spoken word will be held at Bridle Trails New York Pizza in Kirkland on Saturday, October 13th from 3:00-11:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the youth music group of your choice..

I am deeply sad for the passing of Andy. I am still in shock and can't believe why this has happened to someone so great. I worked with Andy and Heather at Safeway in Kirkland when they both were employees along side me. They are amazing people. I pray for strength for you all! I am sad I didn't get to say goodbye.... "The Lord gives and the Lord takes...blessed be the name of the Lord."

Ken, Cheryl, Ben and Heather, I just heard of your tragic loss. I have no words to express my heartfelt sadness for those remaining. We all know that Andy is in a better place, but that does not remove the big whole in your hearts. I remember one of the first things Andy learned to do before he was one year old was to hold his arms up to show "touchdown" while watching the Huskies With Ken.. Hold on the the memories! My prayers for the peace that surpasses understanding. Love Liz B.

Dear Ken, Cheryl, Ben, McKenna, Heather and all Andy's loved ones - I am so sorry for your loss. I remember Andy best when he was so young, earning his wings at poetry readings (with Ken proudly in his shadow.) He had a power-house of a personality and the warmest smile. His laughter filled the room. I have no idea the breadth and depth of your grief but I wish I could help you bear it. I offer you anything that might help, even if it is only my constant prayers today and for all the years to come. You are not alone, even when it seems the loneliest. I'm sorry for your pain. I'm thankful I knew Andy & wish I knew him better. Please take care of each other and yourselves. With gentle and profound love - Shelly Martin-Shaw

I was very sad to hear of Andy's passing. He was such a special friend of mine in highschool and helped me get through the tough times. I am sad to say I didn't get to see much of him after highschool but he was always someone I thought of often. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Ken, Ben, and family,

I had the honor of watching your son and brother Andy grow up in a loving family, from the time of his birth to becoming the fine young man that he was. Andy was kind, funny, and unique in ways that made him the wonderful person he was. I am profoundly sorry for your loss. He is with his mom now and will remain in your (And all) hearts forever. I'm sorry I was unable to attend his service but I hear it was wonderful and moving.

Wishing you peace of mind and heart at this very difficult time. Take good care of each other.

I heart sick to hear of your loss. It is never easy to lose a child. My oldest son was taken three and a half years ago. I know your pain my friend. I am sorry I cannot attend, but you and your wife will be in my thoughts.
