James Edward Johnson

James Edward Johnson entered eternal rest on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Marrero Healthcare Center at the age of 69. He was the oldest of five children born to the union of the late J. D. Johnson and Mable Castille Johnson of New Orleans, Louisiana. He was married to Katie Holmes Johnson of Avondale, LA. He attended L. B. Landry High School and previously worked for the New Orleans Parish Board and HANO. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Katie Johnson, his stepchildren Ralph (Carolyn), Doris (Leon), Gloria Minor, a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, brothers David (Charlesetta) Johnson of Marrero, LA, Alvin (Charlotte) Johnson of Clarksville, Tennessee, sisters Lisa Thomas and Lena Johnson of New Orleans, LA and a host of other relatives and friends. Viewing of the remains will be held from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. and a Celebration of Life service will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Greater Zionfield Family Worship Center, 636 11th Street, Westwego, LA 70094 Pastor Dr. Samuel Travis, Jr. will be officiating. Due to COVID 19 guidelines, a mask must be worn, and an arm badge is needed to remain during service times. Interment at Restlawn Memorial Park in Avondale, LA 70094.
