David Dearden Obituary

David Edmond DEARDEN Photo taken in May 1963 Fort Ord, California Our dear father, brother and grandfather died July 16, 2009 in Kirkland, WA of COPD. He was born in Vancouver, BC, Canada on 3 Dec 1939, the son of Irene Maud (Hampton) and David Robin Dearden. In Feb 1953, he immigrated with his family to the USA, He attended Ballard High School and then enlisted in the US Army where he was in the Military Police and served a tour of duty in South Korea between Sept. 1963 and Oct 1964. Upon the completion of his military service, he joined the Lynnwood, Washington, Police Department, and was very proud to be a detective. During his retirement years he enjoyed researching glass crystal and china, searching shops and sales in pursuit of the unrecognized treasure. The fruits of his labor he sold through various antique shops, most recently "Glorious Treasures" in Edmonds, WA. Dave married Joyce Mary Dearden on 3 Mar 1967 in Seattle. He was preceded in death by Joyce in 2005, by his son, Darin Michael Dearden, in 2001 and his brother, Robert Leslie Dearden, in 1999. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Dana Dearden, and grandchildren: Serena, Zara and Jeremy Anderson (Darin's son); and by his brother, Kenneth D. Dearden, of Kirkland, WA; three nephews, two nieces and twenty first cousins. Yes, he took a great interest in his family history and genealogy. David was not only loved by his family and friends, but by all who knew him. Ask anyone who had met him during his lifetime, and they would say "he was a good man". I love you daddy and will miss you for the rest of my lifetime. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 23, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Acacia Funeral Home, 14951 Bothell Way NE, Lake Forest Park, WA. Viewing will be Wednesday, July 22, 2009 from 10:00am - 8:00pm at Acacia Funeral Home.
