George Suderman Obituary

George H. SUDERMAN Passed away on June 12, 2005, at the VA Medical Center in Portland, OR. He was 76. Born Feb. 21, 1929 in Wyandotte, MI, he joined the Air Force when he became 18, served with the 3757th A&E squadron and became Master Sergeant. George was stationed in Alaska and then Montana where he met his wife, Bernice E. Brandt. They married in 1953 and moved to Seattle, WA in 57. After George and Bernice retired in 1989, they moved to Arizona for several years and in 2001 finally settled in Roseburg, OR. Mr. Suderman served in the Vietnam War in the early 60's, went on to work for the Boeing Co., Lockheed and Hanford as a journeyman welder. He and Bernice stayed busy during retirement, doing lapidary, camp hosting, raising cockatiels, and many other hobbies. He was also a master auto mechanic and enjoyed working on and restoring vehicles. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather, and a friend and mentor to many others. He was an avid reader and extremely knowledgeable and the go-to guy for the entire family. We cannot fully honor this wonderful man in words. We will miss him greatly and he will forever be in our hearts. George is survived by his wife Bernice of Roseburg, OR, and their children, Tom and his wife Melba, Connie and her husband Jack Christensen, Gary, and Andrea and her husband Jeff Strome, along with 10 grand children and 3 great grand children. He is also survived by his brothers Edward and Albert, sisters Patricia, Lynda, Gladys, Claris and Letha. A Military Honor Guard Service will be held at the Roseburg OR National Cemetery on June 24, 2005 at 2 p.m.
