King Yee Obituary

King Gee Yee

King Gee Yee, 76, passed away on March 22, 2017, at his home in Bellevue, WA. Born in China on March 16, 1941, King immigrated to the United States in 1946 to join his father Don F. Yee, in Seattle, WA.

Education was extremely important to him. King earned a BS in Mathematics, an MS in Applied Mathematics, and PhD in Systems Science. He had a long and distinguished career at the Boeing company, where he became a Technical Fellow in 1992. He also served as a member of the International Organization of Standardization (ISO) TC 184/SC 4 subcommittee and received a leadership award for his service in 2006.

King was an avid fisherman who enjoyed everything from rod & reel fishing in local streams and rivers to deep sea charter fishing off the Washington coast as well as fishing trips to Alaska. He was also fond of hiking and traveling. While King was always up for an adventure, his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

King is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lisa Yee; four daughters, Janice Yee of Renton, WA, Victoria Yee of Ann Arbor, MI, Christine Yee of Bellevue, WA, Denise Yee and her husband Lonny Morrison of Seattle, WA and granddaughter, Lily Morrison of Seattle, WA.

Lived in Kennydale, and attended Renton schools. One of my responsibilities was to help king learn the American language. His parents had a store in Kennydale.

This is a good picture of King, but one with a fish would be better. King liked to fish and went often. King was a good man and well liked by everyone that had the chance to work with him. We had lunch together sometimes and he had a good appetite. He was a Technical Fellow at Boeing and much respected for all his accomplishments. He was my friend and I will miss him.

I'm so sorry about King's passing. I worked for him for 12 years at Boeing in his Technical Group. He was a very generous and kind man and he loved to tell stories about his family. He was very proud of his daughters and their accomplishments. I wish I had remained in contact with him after I retired. My condolences.
