Peter Yee Obituary

Peter Yee

Peter Yee passed away peacefully at age 82 on Sunday evening, December 23, 2012 in Bellevue Washington. Peter was born in Albany, New York, in 1930 to Willie Yee and Lois She, the youngest of 4 children. He graduated from Garfield High School in 1949 and from the U of Washington in 1954. After serving in the U.S. Army as a 1st Lieutenant, Peter married Lonnie Mar in 1960. Peter began his career at Boeing and in 1964 became a purchasing agent for Rocket Research. In 1972, Peter and Lonnie opened the Ming Palace Restaurant and in 1997, they retired to become full time grandparents.

Peter was a well-loved and respected man. He was kind, gentle, patient, caring and humble. Most importantly, his life revolved around his family and friends. Peter is survived by his daughter, Kim (Jeff Latham) and grandchildren Katie and Michael, son Kent (Lisa Webster) and sister Lydia Yee. He is pre-deceased by his wife Lonnie Yee. He will be greatly missed by all of his friends and family.

A burial service will be held on Saturday, February 2, at 1:00 pm at Evergreen Washelli, 11111 Aurora Avenue North, Seattle, WA 98133. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Peter's memory to Kin On Nursing Home or Medic One.

Dear Kent, Kim & Family
Our hearts are saddened by the loss of your Dad.
Peter was very special to us. He was so easy going, patient, kind hearted and always had a smile for everyone.
We were blessed to have had so many great years of friendship together. We will miss Peter always. He will be forever in our hearts.
