Ron Perry Obituary

Ron PERRY Ronald James Perry, age 58, passed on unexpectedly at his Edmonds home early Saturday morning, 8/11/07. Ron's sense of humor, his kindness, enthusiasm for sports, pride in his home, family and work, enjoyment in providing generous, loving meals for his family and friends, along with his passion for "The Boss", Bruce Springsteen, comfort and sustain us as we come to terms with his absence in our daily lives. Ron's family includes Kathleen Green, friend, spouse and soulmate; his beloved daughters, Alison Perry, Amanda Figueroa and Liana Green; and his precious grandchildren, Jeff Bailey, Tyler Seifert, Triston Smith, and Marques and Alycia Figueroa. His father is Ted Perry and his brother is Richard Perry. Ron was preceded in death, just this year, by his mother, June Perry, and his sister, Janet Intveld. Ron's extended family includes Ryan Bailey, Felipe Figueroa, Fran Perry, Steve Intveld, Tom, Bonnie and Richard Green, his many nieces, nephews and their children, his aunts, uncles and cousins. Ron is one of the nicest people many of us have ever met and his circle of friends reaches far and wide. He is remembered fondly by classmates, teammates, daughters' friends, partners in the building industry, and by all those he touched in his daily life. Please join us for Viewing Wednesday, 8/15/07, 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Beck's Funeral Home, 405 5th Ave. S., Edmonds and for Ron's Memorial Thursday, 8/16/07, 11:00 a.m. at the Edmonds Yacht Club, 456 Admiral Way, Edmonds. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity. Would that I never forget Ron. And may these memories be as fresh for all my tomorrows as they are this day. Blessed be Ron's spirit, who shall always remain alive in my heart.

Today is thanksgiving and something is missing and of course we all know what that is...you. Today especially as many gather with family and friends it reminds me how I long to hear your voice or get a hug from you. Words don't even begin to express the depth of my heartache at losing you. Today I am thankful for the 31 years that we had together but I can't help wanting more. I have my good days and my bad days and today is a bad day. I came across a picture of you today from Alycia's birthday party and you were blowing bubbles with Marques. It hurt to know that he won't get to spend time with you again in that way. I miss you so much and hope you know just how much I love you and how proud I am to be your daugther. Loving and missing you like crazy forever and always.

Also, today is your first born daughter's birthday and I am sure that she is missing you like crazy as well.

I sort of grew up with Ron, worked at Al's Savewell with him in Bellingham early 70's. Over the years we crossed paths. Once in Seattle, here and there. Made the world seem small but better. It was always a pleasure to see him and we would have a good laugh. I will miss him and miss the chance to just bump into him unexpectantly. He is special.

First of all, I want to offer my prayers to all of Ron's family. I was very saddened to learn of Ron's passing.

Ron was one of several of us that went through grade, jr. and high school together, we were sports buddies, played on football and track teams together all throughout school and he was one of my best friends during that whole time. Even during those young years, Ron had all of the same qualities that I have read in all of the other guest book entries, so I am not surprised by all of the kind and compasionate words that have been expressed. Ron will be missed, but he will always live on in mine and others memories.

To Ron's family, Kathleen, Ted, Mandy and Alison - you have my deepest heartfelt sympathies! It's Ron's quick laugh that comes to mind first and how much he loved and adored his family and friends. I get a grin on my face now picturing him coming home from work when I babysat his kids - he was soooo happy to see those girls! And his kindness and caring, always asking about our family, truly caring about others wellbeing. He will be dearly missed, but we are all better for have knowing him, no matter the pain felt now.

I had an opportunity to know Ron for just over a year and a half; he was the kindest person I have ever met.

Ron, you will always be in our thoughts and forever in our hearts. I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to know you. Even on the toughest days, you could make us smile. It doesn't feel real that we won't be able to see you each day, but we will meet again. I look forward to the day when it is time for our paths to cross again. Until then you will be greatly missed.

To all of Ron's family and friends, our thoughts and prayers are with you. God bless.

The Ron Perry that I knew and experienced was a truly good man, a great friend and confidant. He was authentic, genuine; an exceptional human being. His quick and quirky wit, his innate ability to generate humor and ignite the flames of laughter from those around him was one of his many gifts to us. His heart was enormous and carefully crafted from pure gold. He had an inborn capacity to connect with others and embrace them willingly and without pretense. The Ron I knew will be sorely missed; he was most definitely a unique and loving entity.

But Ron’s life has grown immeasurably since Saturday morning. Although he is free from the confines of his physical body, his life now is at least as vast as all the lives he touched. For those he was connected to, his concern and compassion keep growing and is shared intimately by those of us left behind. And due to the enormity of his life now, Ron’s influence will continue to deeply impact those that felt close to him far into the future.

Buddhism teaches that life is eternal and that death is merely a temporary manifestation of life’s latent state. That being said, because we had a close connection to Ron, there is no doubt we will meet up again with him some time in the future. In the meanwhile Ron, enjoy this new journey before you. Prepare a path for us, if you will. We look forward to seeing you again, my friend, somewhere on the road ahead.

"love is patient and kind
it is not jealous or conceited or proud.
love is not ill-mannered,selfish or irritable
love does not keep a record of wrongs
love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth
love never gives up: its faith, hope and patience never fail"
Ron exemplified this passage to me. I wish i would have got to know him better. Goodbye Ron

Ron Perry is a wonderful caring man that took the time for his fellow employees. I had the honor working with Ron the short time I worked at BMC in Issaquah,WA. Ron hired me as a full time employee and I am grateful that he did. We will all miss him dearly. He had great character and just the sight of him made me smile. Rest in Peace!

"There's a very special garden
Where the trees of memory grow
Nurtured by the kindness
And concern that good friends show.
The roots are cherished memories
Of good times in the past
The branches tender promises
That souls endure and last.
It's a place of peace and beauty
Where bright new hopes can start
It's memory's lovely garden
That soothes the hurting heart."

Ron was a terrific and calming influence in our daily business lives...a hard working, and caring team mate, and a kind and wise man.
It is sad to lose one so young...and young at heart. His quiet 'leadership by example' style distinguished him and earned the respect of all those who knew him.
We will all miss this fine man.
