William Nicholson Obituary
He was born February 7, 1927 in Sedalia, the son of Clarence J. and Violet Nye Nicholson. On August 21, 1948 at St. Patrick's Church in Sedalia, he married Marie Burlette who survives of the home.
He graduated from Smith-Cotton High School. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Upon his return to Sedalia, he worked for A&P Grocers and later opened up his own television repair shop, retiring in the early 80's. After undergoing rehabilitation from an illness, he worked at the Cooperative Workshop, from 1983 to 2003 where he was thought of as a "father" of so many of the individuals there. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church. He loved going to the lake and fishing, boating and teaching kids to water ski.
He is survived by his wife Marie of the home; one son Brad Nicholson and his wife Stepahnie; one daughter Paulette Myers and her husband Larry; and two grandchildren, Tucker Nicholson and Jason Myers.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Bothwell Hospital Foundation, The Cooperative Workshop or Sacred Heart School Foundation, in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
The body was cremated and a mass to celebrate his life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be left online at www.mclaughlinfuneralchapel.com.
