Andriana Kazarian Obituary

Andriana C. Kazarian
February 11, 1950 - April 27, 2021
Andriana Constance Kazarian died suddenly in her home in Montara, California, on April 27th, 2021 at the age of 71. Andriana, who was affectionately known as Andy or "Mama Kaz" by her loved ones, was born in San Francisco on February 11th, 1950. Andy's life was characterized by her deep spirituality and the wellspring of love which she shared with her family and community. She was happily married to Thomas Kazarian for nearly 50 years (married July 25th, 1971). Andy and Thomas were practically inseparable. They built their life around the ocean, the mountains, and their family. They frequently enjoyed trips throughout California and particularly enjoyed visiting Pacific Grove, Santa Cruz, Calistoga, and Donner Lake. They also loved and owned many dogs and horses.

Their marriage was blessed with three wonderful children: Delainya, Thomas, and Patrick. They were also blessed with two grandchildren, Khloe and Christian (Thomas), who inspired her to battle medical issues for several years so that she could spend as much time with them as possible. She also loved her grand-pets, Snugglefluff The Magnificent and Zeus, and was often inspired her to cook gourmet dinners for them.

Andy is the youngest daughter of Magdelaina Petropolis and Constantine 'Gus' Katsaros (both deceased) from Corfu, Greece. Younger sister of Demetrius Katsaros (deceased) and survived by older sister Cleopatra Nogara.

Andy's loving-kindness and support for her family was ever-present and indefatigable. Her capacity for care was exceptional and extended to a wide community of friends, family members, and pets. She and Thomas' home was a source of respite and tranquility for those in need and together they specialized in making people with trauma to feel whole, loved, and connected again. Andy was drawn to people who didn't feel as if they were deserving of love and helped them to see the infinite source of love which steadfastly guided and permeated her life.

Andy was born and raised in San Francisco in the West Portal neighborhood. She attended West Portal School, Herbert Hoover Middle School, Lincoln High School, and San Francisco State University. Growing up, she was a vivacious young woman who was known for her flamboyance, her dynamism, and her effervescent beauty. She was a quick study and thrived at several occupations: she was a fashion model, a deputy sheriff, and a paralegal for the family business. She was particularly drawn to children and spent her entire life helping to raise her children, her grandchildren, and the youth community at large in an abiding spirit of service to younger generations. She often cooked for neighborhood children who would refuse to leave her home because they liked the ambience and community so much. Andy strongly believed in the human spirit and championed the belief that her loved ones ought to embrace their deepest selves and to live life on their own terms.

Andy's viewing and funeral Service will begin at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 6th at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church located at 999 Brotherhood Way in San Francisco.

It is decades since i met Andy and about the same since i have seen Tom. Reading the memorial statement I realize that i grew up in the same neighborhood and attended the same elementary and junior high at the same time as Andy... A distant link that means so much as we grow older.
My deepest condolences to Tom and the family.

Tommy-
I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. I distinctly remember day trips to Great America in the family van! Great memories for sure! Sending love and support. Xo

Patrick was my best friend growing up and Andy was like a second mother to me. I will always remember her love, kindness, and treating me like one of her own. I will cherish the "family" trips to the Flamingo in Santa Rosa, Camp Mather, and the countless sleep overs at the house on Dorchester St. I love you Andy. Thank you for the childhood memories I cherish to this day. To the rest of the Kazarian family, I grieve with you in "our" loss. Tom, Delainya, Tommy, and (my forever friend) Patrick, we lost a great woman. I miss you all and still consider you my Family. God Bless and I love you all.

Andrienne was in a few of my classes at Lincoln High. She was an exquisite beauty & very sweet person. She accomplished so much in her lifetime. May God comfort the family during this difficult time. Photo of Adrienne from our 1967 yearbook.

Farewell.. my friend! May you continue to bring light, love and compassion in heaven. You were Bold, Funny, Empathic, Maternal, Intelligent, Resourceful, Loyal! Your beautiful eyes saw optimistic and goodness in nature and people.

You were a 'personality' that could light up a room.

You gave so much of yourself to so many, a life of family devotion, well lived!! I will cherish the memories ....
