Beloved, beautiful, hardworking, peace & union loving mother of 4, grandmother of 12 & great-grandmother of 2 passed away peacefully with two of her daughters beside her at 5:05 AM on March 10th in Antioch CA. A party celebrating the many layers and loves of her life will be in September when she would have turned 84. Mom, you will be missed by so many! You changed lives through SEIU where you were a union steward! My heart greives but your soul is free. Enjoy meeting old friends and family .To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

So very sorry to hear about Blanche's passing. We were neighbors for many years. She was the epitome of intersectionality in all things progressive. We laughed and cried (and kicked a few butts) over unions, politics, public policy, Kaiser, and healthcare.
My heart goes out to her family and friends. Rest in peace, dear Blanche ❤

Blanche, you have always been a wonderful friend, colleague and mentor to me. We stood together through the strike in 1986 as members of the bargaining team and you empowered me to always stand up for what is right. I learned so much from you. We were known to stand our ground and I couldn't have done it without you. Rest in peace my friend, you have left a remarkable legacy.

Sending my condolences to Blanche's family and loved ones. Blanche has been my heroine and mentor in the labor union movement, through many years of working together in the 1970's and 1980's in Local 250, and on many union Committees and especially through our rank and file Committee for a Democratic Union. I especially want to thank Blanche for being so devoted to her co-workers and so many people who she skillfully represented and prevented from being unfairly disciplined or fired, how hard she fought for the best Kaiser contracts, especially during the 1986 strike against the Two-Tier. Thank you Blanche for showing us all how it is done, and for always being kind and truly human keeping her sense of humor despite overwhelming obstacles! I love you, Blanche!

Blanche was a huge influence on so many people, myself included and especially. She fought tirelessly for the rights of workers even if it meant going up against their own union! She was the most "organic" progressive I'd ever met, having an innate understanding of what's right and wrong and how things are. It was never intellectual or academic to her, it was who she was.
I'll miss her tremendously.
