Bridget O'Meara Obituary

Bridget "Ann" O'Meara
January 25, 1950 - October 31, 2023
Bridget "Ann" Corbett O'Meara, 73, slipped away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones in Eugene, Oregon on October 31st, 2023.
Ann was born in London, UK but quickly moved with her late parents Dennis and Bridie Corbett back to their native Ireland where they lived until the family moved to Vancouver, Canada for a short stay before arriving in San Francisco which would become their family home. Ann graduated from Presentation High School in San Francisco before a long career in hospital administration at UCSF and Stanford. Ann retired to Eugene, Oregon where she and her dog Lilly have enjoyed the last few years in the Pacific Northwest.
Ann will be joining her late husband Sean O'Meara in heaven and is survived by her sons John and Brendan (Lisa) O'Meara, siblings Dennis (Linda) Corbett and Maria (Greg) Guerra and her nephews/niece Dan and Joe Corbett and Gino and Christina Guerra, beloved relations in Ireland and many dear friends she considered family.
Ann had a talent for conversation which led to creating friends wherever she went. She loved all sports and especially supporting her sons in their athletic endeavors at St. Cecilias, Sacred Heart and Saint Mary's College. Most recently, her favorite part of the day was her trip to Brails restaurant in Eugene every morning for breakfast and great company with the regulars and staff who became her Eugene family. Ann will be missed by her many friends and family in the US, Ireland, and around the globe who all describe her as one of the most caring and generous people they have ever met. She was a loyal friend who was always there whenever called upon.
Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, November 17th at St. Jude Catholic Church, Eugene Oregon at 11am. As requested by Ann, ashes will be brought to family burial site in Ireland at a later date.

Ann was very generous - a cherished memory is the bags of books she passed on to me. We both seemed to enjoy the mystery genre. Rest in Peace, you are not forgotten.

I am so sorry of Bridget's (Anne) passing. I've known Bridget for 56 years. We shared so many fun adventures during high school, etc. Driving from Marin back to SF in her red Volkswagon in the pouring rain without windshield wipers!
She was there for me when my brother passed away, and always checked on my parents when I could not be there. A true friend.
My condolences to both of her sons and family.

Sincere condolences to Maria and family, Denis and family , Brendan,Linda and John . I know Ann had not been well for some time and hope she is at rest now.Like all her cousins in Ireland I have great memories of her storytelling and her vivacious laugh. I was 10 years younger than her but she took me on many trips . There seemed to be a crazy story and a big laugh attached to every trip. The most dramatic one involved getting a puncture while driving from Baile Mhuirne to Kiskeam with 6 hens in the boot. I don´t remember the end result , I just remember the laughing . Hope your memories will help to comfort you all . Margaret Daly Duggan .

Sending deepest sympathies to Ann´s Sons John and Brendan and all her immediate family
When on her many visits here to Ireland north and south she was a bundle of energy and always keen to travel around and to visit her relatives here in Aran Islands, Cork and Dublin
She had a long working life and in more recent years bore her illness bravely, never heard her complain. Her son John now here in Ireland and her O´Meara in-laws will welcome her back here where she wished to now have her well earned peaceful rest. Rest in peace Ann

Bridget was fun to work with and was always up for a good laugh. I remember going to a Rod Stewart concert in Las Vegas with her where she made friends with the people in the entire row we sat in. She loved talking and making new friends. My sincere condolences to her family during this difficult time. Rest in peace Bridget. You will be missed.
