Dan was my cousin, the Byrne´s and the Mahoney´s were the product of the Jerry and Vera & Frank and Ro. We spent every birthday together, vacation at the Russian River& celebrated all the ups and downs of life together. He was a wonderful person he was funny and kind. If you were lucky enough to know him you life was enriched many times over.
I miss both Dan and Mike they were such good men.

Very sad news about both Dan and Mike, both exemplary officers and inspectors of the SFPD that I worked with over the years in their various details. Sincere condolences to both families.

To the Mahoney family, I was sad to hear of Dan's passing and so close to Mikes . Both great guys, and John W. is right I never saw him get mad, 2 Quick witted guys gone to soon. Rest In Peace my Brothers.

Dan was a great guy! As a fellow San Franciscan and SI alum, he and I shared a number of laughs over all the folks we knew in common...seemed like it was most of the population of SF from the 60's onward! I thoroughly enjoyed working with him while I was with UASI North Bay and our interactions with the NCRIC!
May the good Lord hold him in the Palm of His Hands!

Great man, with the highest character. Never saw him get upset, even on the golf course. Will miss seeing him and brother Mike at the 19th hole

A good man who loved his job at SFPD and who was good at it. Great sense of humor. Gone too young.
