Our beloved aunt, cousin, friend Dorothy (Dede) Fosbery passed away on Thursday, June 23rd, in San Francisco. She spent her entire life in the city, living in the same house for over 70 years. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband Frank Fosbery and her parents George and Helen Evington.
She attended local schools and graduated from Balboa High in 1945. She spent 40 years working as a Sales Representative for Pacific Bell Telephone Company and was proud to be one of the youngest ever hired. She made many lifelong friends there. After retiring she enjoyed traveling, especially to Pismo Beach with her cousin and nieces who always remember her as cheerful and kind. She spoke daily to her dear friend Eleanor Cavallero about their years growing up together. Ellie's children, Stephen and Julie, were considered part of her family, as was Joan Fosbery. Her caretaker, Rose, provided love and compassion until her passing. Her nephew Gary Price and wife Teri, were in constant contact and attended to her every need. She also leaves her cousin Lucille Lorge, her children Sue Holm, Kathi Schaefer and Chris Lorge as well as great niece and nephew Rachel and Ryan Deckard and many other nieces and nephews.
She will be laid to rest beside her family in heaven, mother, father, brother and husband, and his son Bill. A memorial service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery Chapel in Colma on Friday, July 8th at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in her name to the Unity Church or a charity of your choice.
