Eunice Kilkenny Obituary

Eunice Crapuchettes Kilkenny, 100, passed away in her sleep on April 12, 2025. The daughter of artists--the last surviving of seven accomplished siblings--she was a dynamic mix of science and art. A scientific illustrator after graduating from UC Berkeley with a BA in Public Health, during her homemaker years in Pleasant Hill she designed and made innumerable pieces of "clothes art", hundred of bowties, tailored suits, vestments, and liturgical art for Christ the King Church, sculptures in wire, wood and stone, bonsai shrubs, and a large marble mosaic mural which she put in her bedroom. She was endlessly imaginative and creative. She sang and whistled beautifully. She was a gregarious hostess, an accomplished cook and prolific canner, and an animated and engaging conversationalist. People described her as empathetic, open-minded and a solid Christian. In her fifties, Eunice earned a Masters Degree in Gerontology from Holy Names University and helped found the Diablo Valley Foundation for Aging. Eunice and Paul were great parents to Anne, Mark, Maureen and Tim, and a wonderful, loving, fun couple. They are missed! She will be interned next to her beloved Paul at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Lafayette, CA on June 6, 2025, at 11am, followed by a reception.
