George DelBarrio Obituary
George Gil DelBarrio arrived in the U.S. when he was 5 years old. He proved to be a strong student who loved sports. He was a staunch Oakland A's fan, but was one of the 49er faithful his entire adult life. He was passionate about movies and was an encyclopedia of information about film and actors. His interests also included good food and wine (especially wine) and he amassed an impressive collection of vintage bottles.
When George met Donna Virtue, he found the love of his life. They were happily married for 25 years until Donna's passing. Together they enjoyed traveling, family, music and entertaining their many friends, often by throwing large, wonderful parties.
As George grew older, he was plagued by numerous health issues, finally succumbing to complications on Thanksgiving Day in 2021.
George will be fondly remembered by his brothers Ernesto Jr., and Ricardo and his sister Lillian, as well as his numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
