George Amos Poole Jr.
July 5, 1931- June 21, 2022
George Amos Poole Jr., passed away on June 21 at 4:00pm, just short of his 91st birthday.
George, "Mickey", was the son of Mr. George Amos Poole Sr., and Mrs. Ellen Stuart Poole. He was born and raised in Lake Forest, Illinois. Mickey was awarded his undergraduate degree from Yale University, and his law degree from Stanford Law School. Mickey answered the call to serve his country during the Korean War as a trainer pilot. Mickey went on to practice law in Illinois, as well as California for many years.
Mr. Poole leaves behind his beloved wife, Carol, his brother, Stuart Shumway Poole, and his children George Amos Poole V, Ellen Lilian Rankin, Cynthia Poole Gallivan, Bridget Belden, and Shannon Lueken. He was also beloved by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
"Mickey" loved playing golf, good conversation with his friends, traveling, a long, slow 'shaggy dog story, and a good belly-laugh.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, those that feel so led may contribute to The Mayo Foundation, Scottsdale, Arizona, the SPCA or the donor's favorite charity.
