Jerry Thomas Mathiasen, age 77, St. Cloud, MN died Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Prairie Ridge, Sauk Rapids, MN after a long battle with dementia.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at 10:30 AM at St. Michael's Catholic Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be Monday, September 30, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud MN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Waite Park, MN.

Jerry was born July 10, 1936 in St. Cloud, MN to Albert C. and Marie E. (Rau) Mathiasen. He married June Ann Miller on June 25, 1955 in Waite Park, MN for 35 years. Jerry was a partner in Carquest Auto Parts Store, St. Cloud for over 25 years. He then worked at Mimbach Fleet Supply for 9 years. Jerry was a Minnesota State High School League Official for over 30 years.

Jerry enjoyed bowling, SCSU Husky football and hockey games. He loved swimming, fishing and spending time with family at the home on Grand Lake.

Survivors include his children, Sherry (Rick) Kantor of Sartell, MN; Julie Mehaffey and Harold Mehaffey of Dayton, MN; Michael "Mike" (Kathy) Mathiasen of Richmond, MN Joelle Mathiasen (Tom Korus) of Dayton, MN; mother of his children, June (Mike) Michalski of St. Cloud, MN; nine grandchildren Shane Kantor (Amber Schreifels), Derek (Laura) Kantor, Angie Kantor, Meghan Mehaffey, Missy Mehaffey, Heidi (Chris) Overtree, Lauren Clayton (Michael Blaede), Chris Clayton and Coit Clayton and four great grandchildren, Alaina Kantor, and Teddy, Will and Maggie Overtree.

He was preceded in death by his father on September 18, 1938, mother on October 23, 2001, step father, Ken Brey on March 7, 1945, step father, Donald Preston on February 19, 1994, and brother James Mathiasen.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
