Hugo Arevalo

Hugo Arevalo Passed away on December 6 at the age of 96. Born in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico October 18, 1915 he spent his youth in Mexico City. He immigrated to the U.S. during WW II and served in the U.S. Calvary at Fort Riley, Kansas. After the war he met and married Lupe Humphrey in Naco, AZ. In 1946 they moved to San Francisco where he worked at Gamerston & Green Lumber Co. before joining Millbrae Lumber Co. from which he retired. After the death of his wife he met and married Mela Trundle and lived in San Mateo. They enjoyed travel in China, Europe and the Middle East. He was a man who always saw "the glass half full" . He loved to dance, play bridge, read and listen to music. He adored family gatherings, trips to Lake Tahoe and watching his beloved 49ers. Dearly missed by his son Hugo Arevalo Jr. (Beverly); his step children Louise Lopez (Armando), John Trundle, Susan Kramer (Frank); his grandchildren Elisha Cortez (Nick), Randall Hisle, Sean Trundle, Jessica Findley (William); and great-grandchildren Charlotte and Oliver Findley and Gabriel Cortez. Friends are invited to attend a Vigil service which will be held at 4:30 on Sunday Dec. 11 at Crosby.N.Gray Funeral Home 2 Park Rd. Burlingame. A memorial mass will be said at 10:00 am Monday Dec. 12 at St. Gregory's Church, 2715 Hacienda St. San Mateo. A donation to Doctors Without Borders was his wish.
