John Ferretti, passed away peacefully, at the age of 60, in South San Francisco, on Monday June 23. His loving wife, Antonia, his dog, Bella, and family at his side.
A native San Franciscan, John was born on February 26, 1965 to Juan and Maria "Lila" Ferretti, the youngest of four children.
Raised in San Francisco, John attended St. Phillips Elementary School and Sacred Heart College Preparatory. After graduating, John attended Skyline College where he was certified as an automotive mechanic. He worked more than 30 years in the industry, starting with S&C Ford before going to work for the City and County of SF. While working for the City, he started at the airport automotive shop at SFO. Later, through dedication and hard work, he was promoted to Automotive Machinist Assistant Supervisor and finished his career at the San Francisco Parks and Rec Automotive Department.
John was a lifelong fan of the SF Forty Niners and the Giants. He loved everything about cars and was particularly fond of classic cars. He participated in local car shows with his 1970 El Camino.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Antonia, his dog Bella, his siblings Gloria, Hank (Paula) Ferretti, Mary (John) Ferretti-Breidinger, and their families as well as extended family and many close friends. John was a loving uncle to his nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to visit on Wednesday July 2nd at Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave. in Daly City from 4pm to 8pm where a Rosary will begin at 6pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 3rd at 11am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 666 Filbert Street in San Francisco. He will be laid to rest at the Italian Cemetery in Colma.
