Karen G. Dong

Our beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, Karen Dong, passed away on January 18, 2017. Karen was born in October 1945 in Beira, Mozambique, Africa. She later moved to the US and met her husband William Dong while working in San Francisco. They lived in Sacramento where they raised four children. Karen was a long-term cancer survivor and always took pride in the successes of her children.

Karen is survived by her husband William; her loving children: Linda (George), Julie (Chris), Robert (Joy) and Bryan; her five cherished grandchildren; her siblings Liz, Koong, Fei (Annabella), Howk (Evelyn), Steve; and many nieces and nephews. Karen will always be remembered as a smart, kind, and thoughtful person. We love you and will miss you greatly. A memorial service is planned for February 5 at 1pm at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Flowers are welcome. Donations may be made in Karen G. Dong's memory to the American Cancer Society.

Dear Bill, Linda, Julie, Robert and Bryan,
I was looking for your home address to send a card of my deepest sympathy but couldn't find it. But letting all of you know we send our thoughts and prayers to all of you. I do remember the days that Linda, Julie and Robert played with my boys Michael and Darrell in pre school in Mrs. Merritt's class. I, so enjoyed visiting with Karen and am sorry that we lost contact. Treasure and share all the wonderful memories you've had with your wife and mother. Take care.

Dear William and Family,
Karen will always be remembered for her radiant smile, her beauty, grace and dignity. It was always wonderful to see all of you at family gatherings over the years, to watch your beautiful family grow from adorable kids to young beautiful adults in the image of two loving parents. Karen's spirit and kindness will never be forgotten. She was a great lady and she will go on living in all of you.

You are in our thoughts at this difficult time.

I met Karen when I started working at ATT back in 2005! She immediately stood out to me, she was always in a good mood and had the best sense of humor. I was really sad to hear of her passing. I have millions things I can say about Karen. I just can't seem to put them in words. She was a great friend! She will be missed! My best wishes to her family.

Karen was truly a Beautiful person filled with a Spirit of Love. Always caring for others. I remember the Making Strides Breast cancer walks she would be there bright and early volunteering and cheering you on. An Angel that God has called to rest. My prayers go out to the family and all those lives she touched. (2Corinthians 5:8)

My heart is breaking. I met Karen at At&T. Not only was she my cherished friend, she was also my political buddy. She was funny, would call Bill 'dude' and very intelligent. She loved her family and was so proud of all her grand babies. I will miss all her funny emails but most of all I will miss my friend. Rest in Paradise, Karen.
