Mai Fong Obituary

Mai Lan Fong aka Kristin aka Christine 96, died on February 17, 2009. A San Francisco resident since the 30's she worked as a show girl at various locations in Chinatown including Forbidden City. She also was a piano teacher. Mai volunteered her magic fingers at various sites. Most notably for the past 20 years she served as the pianist for the Song Fest at the San Francisco Senior Center, Downtown. She was a member of the Musician's Union, Local 6 since 1945. Mai Lan is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Cuie Fong, her brothers, Arthur and Eddie Fong and her sister Marjorie Fong. She is survived by her friends, Harry, Roz and Kathleen Sincere thanks go to the dynamic staff at The Avenue, her great physician, Dr. Justin Fong, and the dedicated team of professionals at CPMC. A Memorial will be held on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 9:30 AM at the San Francisco Senior Center, 481 O'Farrell Street. Donations may be sent to: SFSC, 890 Beach Street, SF, CA 94109.
