I worked as Marc's "secretary" for several years in the late 70s and early 80's. He was so talented and I always admired his intelligence. I just learned of his passing. So sorry.

I am very late to discover this news. I met Mark years ago - after his stroke & while he was teaching. He was so happy to be out of the grind & to be spending his days reading with the cat & to then go teach. Wished he'd done it years before. I'm so glad he got to do that in comfort! I'm so glad that after all he did on such a global level - he was able to draw back in & be himself & be with his own & LIVE his fullest life & really for quite a few years before his physical passing. His marks are indelible. What an apropos name for him.

Very early in my career as a young architect of 26, I joined SOM San Francisco in their Production Department. I met Marc while preparing the documents for a project he had designed. I was honored when he asked me to be the project manager on another special project of his for Sears Roebuck. He introduced me to travel across the USA and to other professionals of the highest caliber. I will always remember Marc for his design talent and problem solving brilliance. He gave me a wonderful opportunity to learn and grow professionally in my work with him.

I'm sorry for your loss, Diana. The saying about Christopher Wren ("If you seek his monument, look about you.") is hardly original but very true.
