Mike Riley -- native San Franciscan, West Portal boy, second of four brothers, named for his County Limerick born grandfather, died at home in Las Vegas in the loving care of his wife Faye, daughter Stacey, son-in-law Mike.
Member of the first Riordan Senior High School Graduation Class, 1949, merchant marine, Korean War veteran 2nd Infantry attaining the rank of sergeant while in action in Korea, truck driver on the streets of San Francisco, Teamster Union organizer, progressing to the highest ranks of the Teamsters -- Western Conference Chairman, International Vice President, President of the International Foundation of Employee Benefits Funds, "a fighter for the working man" his entire life, contributor to many charitable causes.
Blessed with two great loves in his life -- first Clairice for 28 years and later Faye for over 32 years who lovingly cared for him in his last years of infirmity. Six children, twelve grandchildren, five great grandchildren -- all loved as special and cherished, they returning their love to him -- their beloved "Pops" – stories, songs, laughter, joy.
