Skip and I went to high school, Acalanes, together and then on to San Jose State where we joined the Theta Chi fraternity. I have many fond and warm memories of our time together.
In particular, in 1959 or 60, Skip and I were roommates in the old house and every Spring Friday afternoon the brothers would meet around the patio to play volleyball and drink a few beers to get ready for the upcoming weekend. Well, Skip would turn up the sound on his stereo and play his famous Louie Prima & Keely Smith records, (he absolutely loved Louie Prima)....not always to the full delight of our "buttoned down" brotherhood. It was hilarious and so much fun that I often sit here at home and have a good laugh thinking about those days.
Skip was a really good guy and a good friend.
I pray that his family finds God's peace and comfort.
Skip, Rest in Peace...we'll all see you on the other side.

Skip and I were in Air Force ROTC together at a time (Vietnam War) that it was not way popular to be walking around on campus with a military uniform on. I spent a couple of weekends at Skip's parent's house in Orinda back in the days before there was a Highway 680.
Skip was an "unstoppable force" in my memory. He epitomized what high energy living was all about. I admired him in school, but I totally lost track of him during our Air Force days and beyond, but I have, hopefully, followed his high-energy quest for living.
The correct comment would be that he should "rest-in-peace". I am secretly hoping that he is not doing that.

There were great evenings of poker and bridge and some studying at 123 S. 11th. They are fondly remembered.

Dear Lanse and Family,
My thoughts are with you all. I enjoyed the time I was able to spend with Skip at Nancy's. I learned a great deal from him and just enjoyed him as a person. I will not be able to attend his service tomorrow but I will be thinking about Skip.

Skip was a popular Theta Chi Fraternity brother at San Jose State. He had communicated with me recently and was sad he couldn't make it to our big September reunion. We will toast one to Skip when we gather in the hills of Santa Cruz.

I am shocked about Skip's death. I had no idea he was sick and had thought I would see him at the Theta Chi reunion at the end of September. He was very much a presence in the house and on the campus, where he was ASB Vice President. My very sincere condolences to his family.
