Pat Ryan, son, husband, father, grandfather and longtime SRJC track coach, touched many lives during his 95 years. His family invites everyone to a Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 8th at Santa Rosa Junior College Track. There will be a short service beginning at 11am followed by a memorial lap around the track and then a luncheon. Come join us and share memories of Coach Ryan and his 42 years at SRJC as well as his time at Cal State Hayward, Arroyo High School and Amador Valley. Please RSVP to John Ryan at [email protected] or 707-548-4424. Pat passed away in early 2020 but his remembrance was delayed by the Pandemic.

Coach Ryan had many gifts. As an an athlete he brought me from the High School level to College. He explained things simply and made us all better. His attention to detail, and hand written record keeping had to be seen. Now that I am a coach myself I appreciate how he coached so many different athletes at different stages of life and treated them all as collegiate. He had every detail covered, from our event entries, to our sandwich orders. Running for Pat Ryan at SRJC were two of my best years of running Track and Cross Country.~ Michael Fink (SRJC 1987-1989)

Pat Ryan will always be known as "coach" and a gentleman to the hundreds of young men and women who had the good fortune to grow both as an athlete and individual. His low-key demeanor was addictive to all the young men and women that he coached and to the colleagues throughout the campus and community.
