Peter is an unforgettable man who stays in one's mind eternally as loving, kind, brilliant, handsome, humorous. He dearly loved his wife, Melanie, his children and his numerous friends. I feel personally blessed to have known him.

Peter Maier "stole" our hearts (as he did MANY MANY MANY others) upon our first meeting at Marin Theatre. My late husband, R Curtis Morris, MD (who preceded him in that heavenly place, is now beside his dearest of friends, Peter Maier, creating mischief and sharing stories of life on this earth). Melanie and I were two VERY LUCKY women to have men who kept our hearts beating for many many many blessed years of marriage, friendship and (YES) MAGICAL MISCHIEF. Rest in peace and never forget how very much you were loved %

During the week of 9/11 it was true serendipity to meet you both in a London hotel lobby. Peter was amazed that we had been neighbors in Chicago. He was so bright, friendly, and such a pleasure to know. Our deepest sympathy to you and your family.

Peter was a gifted teacher, brilliant scholar, devoted colleague, wonderful mentor, and a longtime friend. He was, perhaps above all, a true gentleman, a person of integrity and honor. He will be deeply missed, but remembered always.

Peter Maier was a giant. He oozed warmth and graciousness, he was gentle yet firm with me for over 60 years. He helped me form a business through his legal expertise when I was 22. He would never accept any compensation. For the next 55 years, he planned and executed my financial world. He counselled me through my marriage and later my social life. His friendship was immensurable, his humor was classic! He introduced me to the world of Bordeaux wines and we shared many memories of the classic vintages. Needless to say, he is in my thoughts daily. My love to Melanie and the kids. Paul

Baruch Dayan Ha'Aemet, May His Memory be for a Blessing. Peter z"l was a tzaddik, a righteous person, we were privileged to know him in our early years and will never forget him.

Peter brought so much joy into our lives and most especially the life of my late husband, Curtis. Having a "best" friend is a blessing - having one like Peter is a GIFT. I smile when I think if them together in a heavenly place = both modest and VERY successful, both truly loved and cherished their wives and families and both filled every room they entered with knowledge, warmth and laughter - empowering all those of us who were lucky enough to be present
