Richard Brooding
January 13, 1925 - June 15, 2022
Dick Brooding passed away on Wednesday, June 15 at the age of 97. He was a loving, devoted husband, father, grand-father and great-grandfather. Dick was born in Oakland, California, the older son of Milton and Wilma Brooding. After serving in the Navy, Dick attended UC Berkeley where he joined the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity making many lifelong friends along the way. He also met the love of his life, Constance "Connie" Herman, while there. Dick and Connie got married in 1950 and had three children. The family moved to Saratoga in 1959 and created a lifetime of roots with dear friends. Dick was a founding member of St Andrews Episcopal Church in Saratoga, a former president of the Santa Clara Rotary and a member of the Men's Foothill Club.
Dick is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Connie Brooding, his daughters Bree Klotter and Mary Brooding, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a brother, Larry Brooding. He was proceeded in death by his son, David. A memorial service for Dick will be held at St. Andrew's later this summer.

We were so sad to hear of Dick´s passing. He and Connie were wonderful friends to Jean and Bo Raisch, Bryan´s parents. Bryan and I will miss your delightful Dad.

My condolences to the family. "Dad" as I called him, was a wonderful father figure to me. I lived with the Broodings as an AFS exchange student while attending Saratoga HS.
Dad was always fair, friendly, generous and very kind. Thru the years, I always looked forward to visit them and I treasure the wonderful memories of our visits or chats. I am so grateful that God put them in my life.
Praying that God Almighty comforts and blesses every one of the members of this family,
