We are sad to announce the passing of Robert E. Marsh of Half Moon Bay, CA known to all as "Bob." He died peacefully at the age of 82 on February 1, 2025.
Bob was born on September 5, 1942 to Elbert and Erma Marsh of Half Moon Bay. He graduated from Half Moon Bay High School, and upon his graduation, he continued to work on the family farm growing pumpkins, hay and grain. In 1965 he married Julia Giannini, his dear wife of 59 years. In 1966 Bob's Pumpkin Farm began, and since that time, Bob has been one of the most well-known pumpkin farmers on the coast. Shortly thereafter, he also began working for the San Mateo Couty Road Department as an equipment operator which he retired from in 2004.
In addition to farming, Bob spent many years running Bob's Vegetable Stand and ranching cattle. To this day, you can see his cattle grazing in the fields on the farm along Hwy 1. Bob had a love for hunting and fishing, and as soon as his grandchildren were old enough, he was sure to include them in those special occasions. For several years Bob enjoyed serving on the Agricultural Advisory Committee and the San Mateo County Farm Bureau.
Bob is survived by his wife Julia, his two children Deborah Cozzolino (Jason Silva) and Robert Jr. and his two grandchildren Aundrea and Johnny Cozzolino.
There will be a celebration of life on March 8th at 12:00pm at the IDES Hall in Half Moon Bay. In place of sending flowers, please consider a donation to the San Mateo County Farm Bureau Scholarship Program. Checks should be made payable to San Mateo Farm Bureau, 765 Main St., Half Moon Bay, CA 94019. In the memo, please write "In Memory of Bob Marsh."
