This space is not large enough to express my gratitude for Tom Trutner or my sympathy for Roxanna, Kirk, and the rest of the family. From 1973 through the final days of his incredible life, Tom has been my Friend. That word deserves a capital F. I am but one of the countless people whose life was made immeasurably better because of Tom. How fortunate are we to have known this man? Tom's laugh, his wisdom, his self-deprecating humor, his humility, his love of God, his approachability, his irrepressible good cheer...and so much more, all part of why he was such a source of Light, such a Gift to us all. Tom once told me that death does not end a relationship. Thank you, Tom. I shall carry you in my heart forever, you will continue to inspire me, and while I will not be able to hear your laughter at a joke or image we shared, I shall forever think, "Oh, Tom would like this one!"...

Tom and I shared happy Piedmont High School days, playing football together on the famed 1952 team, in the Rigma Lions and playing music. He was a great guy. I can´t travel to his services, but send my condolences and best wishes to his family and many friends.
