Our dear friend Tim Shortt passed away suddenly from complications of pneumonia. While in the hospital, he never lost his sense of humor sending countless emails to friends & family. He was a gifted & clever writer with a wicked sense of humor. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

The wit, sarcasm and love of Sinatra were evident when Tim was a much younger man. Many a weekend was spent at Tim's parents house in Detroit playing hand after hand of euchre. Tim even provided door prizes for the winners - ice scrapers from Comerica Bank. Time has passed too quickly but the loving memories of laughter, jokes, and Sinatra will live on forever. Tim was the first to call me Weezie - a lovely nickname to this day!

Though on opposite coasts Tim was a valued business partner who shared wisdom and sought advice. We traded bocce experiences. He sent me a picture of Sinatra he had in his office and I took a picture of the Sinatra plaque that hangs in Sinatra's hometown, Hoboken NJ. RIP Tim. Thoughts and prayers to all suffering his loss.

Tim and I were very good friends in high school and early college. We lost touch after that. Thank you for the obituary. It made me smile to see that the Tim of the 1980's was very present in the Tim of the new millennium. Tim was fun, witty, well-dressed, and a great friend. May he live in our hearts and Rest In Peace.

As someone who grew up across the alley from Tim, I always knew him to be a great guy who was far more decent than his sardonic wit let on. The in-jokes and escapades will live on in Tim Shortt lore!
