Daniel Hogan Obituary

HOGAN-Daniel Henry Hogan, 8/30/1934 - 5/25/2010 Longtime Resident of West Covina passed in his home from unexpected heart and respiratory problems. He was born and raised in Los Angeles, attended Garfield High for 2 years until he joined the U.S. Army in 1951. He served in Korea. He worked for Flying Tiger Airlines for 35 years, then FEDEX until his early retirement in 1988. Daniel was the eldest of five children born to the late Daniel Michael and Rose Hogan (Garcia). He was the beloved husband of Theadora Helen Hogan (Garcia) for over 56 years. Daniel will forever be remembered by his devoted brothers and sisters, Patricia, William, Alfred, Theresa, and George. Daniel is survived by his children Ernest, Carol Orr, Gerry, Bruce and Linda Hogan-Estrada and his treasured grandchildren Brandon, Jason, Erin, Max, Jack, Rory, Miles, and Ian. Daniel loved flying, sailing, scuba diving, camping, hiking, mountain biking, Ham radio, studying ancient cultures and WWII. His last passions were fly fishing and radio kit building. He was a devoted caregiver to his grandchildren and was always ready to help. He was busy and active up until the moment he passed. Call sign WA6PBY will be dearly missed by many. Friends and family are invited to attend a rosary and vigil on Tuesday June 1, 2010 5pm-9pm, and memorial service with military honors on Wednesday June 2, 2010, at 2pm at Forest Lawn, Covina Hills, Church of our Heritage, 21300 East Via Verde StreetCovina, CA 91724
