Jonathan Pomeroy Obituary

A bright light has been extinguished and he shall be missed forever by those whose lives he touched.Jon was born in Massachusetts on September 25, 1948 to Marilyn and Don Pomeroy. He entered heaven on September 21, 2023. Jon grew up in Detroit, Michigan, graduating from Cooley High School in 1967. In 1971 he headed to the California coast, settling in Westchester. Little did he know there he would find the love of his life, Pamela, his soul mate and best friend for the last 52 years. Together their interests blossomed into preserving history and they were always on the hunt for the next treasure. This hobby culminated into a country general store and a gas and oil memorabilia private museum. He had an amazing eye for design, color and placement, and was always adding to the collection. His dedication for over 25 years to the Covina Sunrise Rotary's Operation Santa Clothes program showcased his enthusiasm for helping others and making the world a better place. Over the years Operation Santa Clothes clothed 35,000+ children in the Covina Valley Unified and Azusa Unified School Districts. With his passion of giving back to the community, in 1997 thru 2021 he hosted Thanksgiving dinners at his business, Rayne Water Conditioning. Along with a free clothing boutique hundreds of people came from miles around to join in the festivities and listen to live music. Hitching up his trailer filled with clothing, shoes, hygiene kits, blankets and more Skid Row was his destination. Happy to give back, as he felt he was most fortunate throughout his life. Boarding a bus filled with high school students, it was off to Anza and Heavenly Horse Haven where the day was spent mending fences, painting barns and sheds and finishing up the day with a bath for PJ the dog. His love of family thrilled and overflowed his heart. He was a mentor and an advisor who would stop everything he was doing to listen and guide. He took much pleasure in planning the family vacations and delighted in adding many surprises along the way, making sure there was something magnificent for everyone. His mind was a library of information and he retained most everything he read. We shall miss our own personal google who never ceased to astonish us with his wealth of knowledge. His legacy was a testament to the Renaissance man he was generous, kind, playful, zany, selfless, compassionate, thoughtful and friend to everyone he met. He leaves behind his loving wife Pam and his extended family of loved ones. Service to be held October 10th at St Denis Catholic Church at 11 am, reception immediately following at the Diamond Bar Center. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to SupportAbility (https://supportability.info/) and Kitty Corral (https://www.petfinder.com/member/us/ca/covina/kitty-corral-cat-rescue-ca2890/)

How do I begin to express all your feelings and emotions of the loss of my friend Jon.
Emptiness,sadness, heartbreak to start with.
Jon was just one of those people that gave you the best feelings of joy and happiness when you were around him. Life was good, life was easy, life was sharing, life was fun, life was caring when you were with Jon.
He wasn´t in my life long enough.
I will miss you Jon.
