Basler, Brian S. (1962-2015)

Brian Scott Basler, age 53, of Cleveland, WI passed away early Tuesday Morning (Dec. 29, 2015) surrounded by his loving family after a courageous and hard fought battle with cancer.

Brian was born on May 28, 1962 in Plymouth, WI, a son of Bernard Basler and the late Mary (Mullen) Basler.

Brian attended St. John the Baptist Grade School, St. Lawrence Seminary for 1 year, and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1980. Following graduation he served in the United States Marine Corps from 1980-1983.

On April 13, 1996 he married Lori Behr at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Brian was employed at Kohler Company for over 30 years. He was a great cook and talented artist. He enjoyed fishing, camping, spending time with his dogs, traveling and most of all spending time with his loving family.

He is survived by his loving wife: Lori of Cleveland; Four daughters: Tanya (Owen) Murphy of Sauk City, WI, Kara (Eric) Schultz of Manitowoc, Andrea (Brian) Wesaw of Sheboygan and Jada Harvey of Plymouth; Eight grandchildren: Makya, Madelyn, Araya, Kayla, Maxwell, Jayden, Stella and Sutton; Father: Bernard Basler of Plymouth; One sister: Cynthia (Robert) Lynch of Cedar Rapids, IA; Two brothers: Donald (Dianne) Basler of Plymouth and Jeffrey Basler of Sheboygan; Five sisters-in-law: Sharon (Joe) Schneider of Sheboygan Falls, Bonnie (Dennis) Theune of Crandon, WI, Kathy Behr of Plymouth, Donna (Steve) Ottman of Sheboygan Falls and Christine (Robert) Lemkuil of Plymouth.

Also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nephews, a great niece and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother: Mary; and father and mother-in-law Robert and June Behr.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon (Jan 2, 2016) at 4:00 P.M. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Rev. Justin Fisher, Pastor of Revolution Church will officiate. Cremation will take place following the Services.

Visitation will be held at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 2, 2016) from 2:00 P.M. until the time of services.

The Plymouth VFW World Cheese Center Post #5612 will conduct military rites following the service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Brian's name.

I think of Brian often. He trained me in at Kohler Generator. He was very nice to me. I enjoyed being stuck in a corner with him. Sorry to see him end his life this way. He was a happy guy. To the family, I'm sorry for your loss.
