Dale Jacquette Obituary
Dale Jacquette, died suddenly and unexpectedly at his home on 22 August 2016. He was 63 years of age. He was a native son of Sheboygan, WI, born to Matt and Mabel (Sass) Jacquette, and attended South High School, graduating in 1971.
In 2008 Dale and his wife moved to Switzerland where he was Senior Professorial Chair in Logic and Theoretical Philosophy at the University of Bern. He earned his BA in philosophy from Oberlin College in 1975 and PhD in philosophy from Brown University in 1983. His previous previous academic positions included Penn State University, University of Nebraska/Lincoln, and Franklin and Marshall College. He was a successful scholar with an extensive publishing record and numerous academic awards including research funding from the Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung, a Fulbright Distinguished Lecture Chair, Residential Fellowship at the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study (NIAS), and the Swiss National Fund.
In addition to his academic interests, Dale was a keen photographer, music lover, art enthusiast, and world traveler. He is survived by his wife, Tina (Traas) Jacquette (their 40th wedding anniversay was August 14th) his son, Scott Templeton, and two grandsons, David and Jason.
