Lisowe, Jacob (1930-2015)

Jacob M. "Jake" Lisowe, age 85, of Plymouth passed away early Tuesday evening (Dec. 22nd) at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton.

On December 21, 1930, he was born in the Town of Mitchell, son of the late Jacob and Dora (Dekker) Lisowe.

Jake attended Plymouth area schools. He served 2 years in the United States Army and 12 years in the National Guard. He achieved membership to the High Power Rifle team and received National Recognition 3 times to the President's 100.

Jake worked at Cleve-Pak, Salem United Church of Christ, Plymouth School District and City of Plymouth Public Works.

On September 13, 1953, he married Marion Lemkuil in Sheboygan Falls.

He was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Plymouth.

Jake was a member of the Sheboygan Rifle and Pistol Club. He enjoyed anything with rifles, hunting, working on and repairing small engines. He was known around town as Mr. Fix-it.

He is survived by his loving wife: Marion; two children; Gary (Sue) Lisowe of Elkhart Lake and Cheryl (Steve) Rortvedt of Plymouth; daughter-in-law: Joyce Lisowe of Plymouth; seven grandchildren: Angie (Toby) Tollman, Chris (Lynn) Lisowe, Adam (Julie) Rortvedt, Bradley (Laurel) Rortvedt, Garett (Jenny) Rortvedt, Jordan Lisowe and Justin (special friend: Abbey) Lisowe; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law: Gilbert Lemkuil of Plymouth; three sisters-in-law: Arlen Schaap of Plymouth, Margie Preder of Elkhart Lake and Carol Lisowe of Plymouth.

Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two children: Larry and Jacob John; four sisters: Ovella (John) Gilson, Mathilda (Marvin) Johanning, Doris Ann (Roger) Donath and Gertrude (Norman) Eberle; ten brothers: Raymond Oscar (Kathryn), Joseph (Elaine), Ervin (Dorothea), Leander (Lois), George, Arno (Blanche), Henry Frederick, John, and Norbert (Audrey); brothers and sisters-in-law: Rueben, Flossy, Ruth, Luella, Mildred and Harley.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, (December 26) at 4:00 P.M. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Rev. James Hoppert, Pastor of Salem United Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will take place in the Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Saturday (Dec. 26) at the Suchon Funeral Home from 2:00 P.M. until the time of services. The Ladewig-Zinkgraf American Legion Post #243 will conduct Military Rites following services at the Suchon Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in his name.
