Bobby Putnam

KINGS MOUNTAIN - Bobby Gene Putnam, 84, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on February 07, 2021 at his home. He was born in Cleveland County, NC, son of the late Charles Lawrence and Lela Hord Putnam and was preceded in death by his first wife of forty-eight years, Judy Bridges Putnam. Bobby was also preceded in death by his brothers, William Grady, Elzie Lee, Lloyd Franklin, Forrest Craven and Billy Dean Putnam, and his sister Elizabeth Putnam Rayfield. He was a member of Northside Community Church in Dallas, NC, where John Johnson serves as pastor. Bobby served his country honorably as a member of the US Army. He worked in maintenance at Fiber Industries Inc for more than thirty-five years. Bobby was an avid golfer and loved playing every chance he had. He loved being outdoors and cherished all of God's creatures. He spent many hours basking in nature, feeding wild animals and making friends with local deer and squirrels who enjoyed Bobby as much as he enjoyed them. Bobby loved being creative, staying busy and working with his hands. After his retirement, Bobby built his barn with the remnants of an old chicken house on his property. He was beloved by his family and many friends. His kindness and spirit will be missed greatly by everyone who ever knew him. The family would like to thank Caromont Heart of Gastonia, Dr. Shedd and Dr. Russo and their team and Dr. Carley's Family Practice and their team in Kings Mountain for the care provided to Bobby.

SURVIVORS: Wife of ten years, Linda Randolph Putnam, of the home

Nephew: Mike Rayfield and wife Debbie of Kings Mountain, their son, Jason Rayfield and his wife Anna, and their son, Wesley Rayfield

Niece: Judy Whisnant and husband Laurin of Kings Mountain, their daughter, Elizabeth Whisnant and her children, Adilyn and Pierce

Sister-in-law: Shirley Putnam, Lexington, SC

Earl and Nancy Clemmer and family, Danny and Tina Bumgardner and family,
