Peter Klaus Sokolow

Peter Klaus Sokolow, 68, a 42 year resident of Valencia, CA, died at Windsor Terrace Hospice Facility in Van Nuys, CA, on Tuesday, December 8, 2009, from complications from a stroke, which happened rather quickly. He was born on April 21, 1941 in Germany, and graduated from George W. Wingate High School in Brooklyn, NY in 1959.

Peter worked as a security guard for Landmark Patrol, Secur-Alert, Golden West K-9, and Maxwell Security. He retired from Loomis Fargo Armored as an armored car driver. He was a member of Santa Clarita Elks Lodge, Mint Canyon Moose Lodge, and Western Conference of Teamsters.

Peter is survived by his Daughters, Cindy (Greg) Slezinger of Palmdale, CA; Christie Crone (Mitch Mayenschein) of Valencia, CA; Granddaughter Georgia Mayenschein of Valencia, CA; Brother Jerry Sokolow of Missouri, Brother-in-law Rodger Howard of Valencia, CA; and several nieces and nephews along with numerous friends and loved ones. His wife Edwina Sokolow who passed away on July 10, 2006 and his mother, Eleanora Sokolow procedes him in death.

Services will be held on Tuesday December 15, 2009 at 1:00pm at Eternal Valley Memorial Park in the Chapel on the Hill, 23287 Sierra Hwy., Newhall, CA. Gifts may be sent to Cindy Slezinger at Eternal Valley Memorial Park.

Peter's family wrote, "His proudest moment was when Georgia was born and he became an Opa. His love for his granddaughter is what kept him going each and every day."
