Catherine Ann Heelen
SPRINGFIELD, IL - Catherine Ann Heelen, 65, formerly of Paris, Ill., passed away at 8:10 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at Paris Community Hospital, Paris, Ill.
She was retired from the Illinois State Board of Education.
Ann was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Springfield.
She enjoyed traveling, shopping, spending time with family, friends and her beloved cat, Gibson.
Ann was born May 14, 1948, in Paris, the daughter of James and Ethel Ogle Heelen.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Donna Heelen of Paris; her niece, Mandy Handlin (Jim) of Paris; her nephew, Morrie Heelen (Amy) of Paris; her great-nieces and -nephews: John Curtis Heelen, Kendra Siddens, Andrew Volstorf, Mikaela Handlin, Adam Volstorf and Jared Handlin.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bob Heelen.
Following cremation a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 18925 E. 1350th Rd., Paris, IL 61944 with Rev. Fr. David Zimmerman officiating.
The family will greet friends prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Aloysius Cemetery.
