VIRDEN - Lavetta E. Carrigan, 84, passed away at 9:25 a.m. Thursday, January 14, 2010, at her residence.
Lavetta was born September 18, 1925, in Carlinville, daughter of Raymond and Cordelia (Tate) Jones. She later married Paul A. Carrigan April 24, 1943 in St. Charles, Mo.
Lavetta is survived by sons, Robert L. (Nada) Carrigan Sr. of Rochester and Dennis P. (fiancee, Glenda Barnes) Carrigan of Virden; brother, Derak (Allene) Jones of Eldorado; grandchildren, Robert (Julia) Carrigan Jr., Rodney Carrigan and Joseph (fiancee, Erica Reeves) Carrigan of Springfield, Randal (Sherry) Carrigan of Glenarm, Nicholas (Cinda) Carrigan of Rochester, Terry Kay (Jamie) Vandeberg of Dayton, Ohio, Michelle (Michael) O'Connor of Crestview, Fla. and Montana Carrigan of Virden; 22 great-grandchildren; 3 nieces; and 1 nephew.
Lavetta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; infant daughter, Terry Kay Carrigan; son, Michael Carrigan; grandson, Jay Carrigan; brothers, Wendell Jones and Loren Jones; niece, Janie Jones; and nephew, Randy Jones.
There will be private family viewing. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday January 18, 2010, at the Virden Cemetery. Calvert and Ferry Funeral Home in Virden in charge of arrangements.
