VIRDEN - Sharon Louise Pierce, 62, of Virden died at 4:19 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born April 19, 1945, in Chatham, the daughter of Paul and Irene (Brawner) Clark. She was a graduate of Glenwood High School in Chatham and a former member of Chatham United Methodist Church in Chatham.
She is survived by her husband, Frank C. Pierce of Virden; a son, Luke (wife, Sarah) Pierce of Virden; daughters, Tina L. (husband, Mike) Murray of Troy, Kathy A. (husband, Doug) Harris of Pocahontas and Teresa L. (husband, Dave) Carr of Greenville; a brother, Frank (wife, Mary) Clark of Chatham; sisters, Evelyn Ellis of Chatham, Margaret (husband, George) Lindsay of Springfield and Maxine (husband, Tom) Lederbrand of Pawnee; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, Wes Allen Pierce.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, at the Calvert and Ferry Funeral Home in Virden, with a memorial service starting at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, also at the funeral home with the Rev. Glen Kreider officiating.
Cremation rites were accorded; burial will be at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, American Lung Association or Memorial Medical Center Foundation for Pulmonary Rehab.
