Very saddened by the news. I worked for Shawn at Drawn Metal. He was a very nice man. I read the posts from others and all I can do is smile because all of what people are saying is bringing back memories of his twinkling eyes and big smile.
I hope your family heals quickly. May your memories of Shawn bring smiles to you ratherthan tears. Gid bless.

Captain Shawn,
The last couple of years were rough my friend and I hope you are at peace now. You will always be the "Duke" and "Spiritual Leader" of D-Dock, Belmont Harbor Chicago. We had some wacky and fun times together. You did it on your terms and that is more than most can say! If Shawn was your friend, you had a friend indeed! Everyone in the boating community mourns your passing my friend. Anchors away...

My thoughts and prayers go out to Shawn's family. He will dearly be missed at the harbor. My little girls Katelyn, and Carin always looked forward to saying hi to "Captain Shawn" when we got down to the lake. I've had many late night talks with him over the past 12 years. He always meant well, and would help anyone who needed it at the harbor. He has a kind soul. I will surely miss his Sunday Sermons. He was the "Spiritual Leader" (Jokingly) of D-Dock. Toast. May the wind always be at your back and the sun upon your face. And may the wings of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars.
