WAYNE RAMERMAN Obituary

Dr. Wayne George Ramerman was born on August 5, 1943 in Bellingham, Washington to Byron and Cora Ramerman.

He passed away on November 12th, 2011 in Bellevue, Washington due to complications resulting from a 24-year battle with Parkinson's disease.

Wayne is survived by his siblings: Dale Ramerman, Janice Richardson and Karen Penderson; as well as his three boys, Nathan Ramerman, Andrew Ramerman and Matthew Ramerman; and four adoring granddaughters: (Andrew's) Madison Ramerman, McKenna Ramerman, Mylie Ramerman and (Matthew's) Sasha Ramerman.

At the time of his death he was living in Bellevue, Washington close to his family.

Wayne graduated from Everett High School in 1961. He then attended Seattle Pacific College from 1961-1965 graduating with a degree in English Literature and Chemistry. He attended University of Washington School of Medicine 1965-1969, University of Vermont Hospital internship and residency 1969-1972 (residency in Internal Medicine).

He had a brief employment with Group Health Hospital 1972-1973 (Seattle) prior to moving to Anacortes, joining Dr. Harold Clure in his practice in April of 1973. He was proud of his career in Anacortes, serving as Chief-of-staff of Island Hospital two times, as well as serving as a doctor in a small community; however, one of his greatest passions was serving as a Clinical Professor of Medicine at University of Washington, providing the opportunity to shape many careers of young med-students who shadowed his practice in Anacortes.

After retiring from Fidalgo Medical Associates, Wayne served as the Medical Director for Island Hospital.

Wayne was devoted to "his boys" and constantly on the go, pursuing a long list of great passions: fishing (particularly in Nootka Sound), skiing (cross-country & down-hill), golf (loved Smilk Beach Golf Course), raising many horses and most of all working on his "property", a small farm on the South West side of Fidalgo Island which he created from the ground up, spending countless weekends over 25 years.

There will be an open house memorial gathering for friends and family in honor of Wayne held at Gere-a-Deli in Anacortes on Saturday, November 19th between 4 and 6pm.

Honorariums can be made online with the Northwest Parkinson's Foundation www.nwpf.org.

I miss you pop! You were taken far to young. I think about you all the time, I wish I had more time with you. I wish my kids had more time with you. You should see them now!

He taught me to ski, trow a ball, ride a bike, how to cut wood, horse backride, fish, boat, we learned to scuba dive together, the list goes on and on. I miss him greatly.
Thank you all for your kind words

As a young girl I often stayed at the Ramerman home on Seahurst Ave in Everett for a week in the summer to play with Karen. Wayne was always lively and fun. He taught me how to wink. He has always had that winning "Timmer" smile!

Andrew, Matthew, and Nathan. I'm so sorry for your loss. I am grateful for the time dylan and i spent living with him on the farm. Hearing so many stories over dinner and learning a variety of different activities from building a split rail fence, to (attempting to) rebuild a 1940 ford.. Pruning the orchard...all the plumbing.. The list is long. He was definitely one of the most passionate people I will ever know and I am a richer person having had the opportunity and the privilege to get to know him as I did.
Sorry guys, my heart goes out to you and my thoughts are with you.
