Diane and Family, I had the blessing of meeting Mark and your family many years ago during my teenage years. I have the fondest memories of Mark and cannot think of anyone other than My Father or my Uncle Henry Fosson that truly live the life of being the "Best Father" and teacher. They lived their lives showing us all how to do better and give back. Years later as the neighbor to Helen Nilsson, Mark continued to impress me how to helped her in her elder years. May the memories of Mark live on and keep you smiling. So very sorry for your loss.

I went to high school with Mark at South H.S. in SLC. He was a good guy then, and I see from this obituary that he has only added success and kindness to his name and legacy in the ensuing years. God bless such souls, and the wife, children, parents, and siblings (and others) who help create and sustain these mortals as they fraternize with the rest of us! He was not a famous man but a good man. Oh Lord, how we need more of these!

Mark Vranes was my bishop in the San Bruno Ward. I thought highly of him. He was always welcoming, warm, funny, had sound advice, and his whole countenance showed what a big heart he had! He is missed. Love to you Diane.

Diane I don't know if you remember me but Dan and I were in your ward years ago before we moved to Montana. We came back for a visit once and you were so kind. You came up after sacrament meeting and told me during the first hymn you heard my voice and knew I was there. My Dan passed away 20 years ago this June. I went from being a stay at home Mom to becoming an accountant. I have not remarried and work for the church. Once again I am so very sorry for your loss. I know what that feels like. We can be grateful for eternal marriage and to have a real true love in our lives. Hugs to you. I have thought of you through the years. Your young family always impressed me.

Mark was a force of nature, and made such an impact on our two young boys, while we lived across the street. He had such energy and enthusiasm for everything and we'll never forget his larger-than-life laugh. We feel lucky we got to know him. Sending love to Diane and family.
