Barbara M. Sorg

1948 - 2021

Barbara M. Sorg, 72, of 211 Hayes Road, Kersey, died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 following a short illness.
She was born on December 14, 1948, in Ridgway, a daughter of the late Henry and Margaret Klink Benedict.
On October 9, 1971 in Johnsonburg, she married George Sorg, who survives.
Barb was a graduate of Elk County Christian High School, class of 1966 and was a member of St. Boniface Church.  She worked for many years at the Bavarian Inn. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, playing cards and playing her computer. She was a talented artist who enjoyed painting and drawing. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband of nearly 50 years, George Sorg, she is survived by two sons; John Sorg and his wife Beth of Ridgway and Robert Sorg and his wife Kristi of Johnstown, and by 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by four sisters; Sue Hansen of Johnsonburg, Kathy (Mark) Curtis of Reynoldsville, Judy (Bob) Nannay of Maine, and Janet Sorg of Treasure Lake, as well as by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Roger Sorg in 1992 and by a sister at birth.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Barbara M. Sorg will be celebrated on Monday, October 4, 2021, at 10 a.m. at St. Boniface Church, 355 Main Street, Kersey, PA 15846 with Rev. Ross Miceli, Pastor, officiating.
Friends will be received at the St. Boniface Gathering Space from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
Interment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
