Elaine Francis TOBIN

TOBIN, Elaine Francis A former resident of Creekside passed away on May 1, 2015 in Sonoma, CA. She was one of three daughters born in Detroit, Michigan on July 18, 1932 to Daniel and Helen Sullivan. Elaine is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Walter Tobin whom she married in 1954 in Detroit, Michigan. In 1973 they moved from the Chicago area to settle in Los Altos, CA. A job transfer to Cincinnati, OH in 1983 took Elaine and Walt from the state they loved. They returned to California in 1990 to retire in Sonoma. As a full-time mother to six children, many of Elaine's volunteer activities revolved around her children's schools and her Catholic faith. In Sonoma she was an active member of St. Francis Solano Parish. Elaine loved bringing friends together for a competitive card game of Bridge, and was an active member of several Bridge clubs. Many people may be unaware that Elaine was a talented artist because her focus and devotion was to her family. Elaine will be deeply missed by her children: Tom (Karen), Peggy (Graham), Maureen (John), Mary Kay (Hal), Sheila (Ken) and Bill (Nicky), as well as by her sixteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister, Joan. She is predeceased by her parents, and sister, Mary Ann. There will be a private service for family.
